2.94

asūci-sañcāre tamasi nabhasi prauḍha-jaladadhvani-
prājñaṃmanye patati pṛṣatānāṃ ca nicaye |
idaṃ saudāminyāḥ kanaka-kamanīyaṃ vilasitaṃ
mudaṃ ca mlāniṃ ca prathayati pathi svaira-sudṛśām ||

When darkness too thick for a needle to pass covers the sky, and clouds thunder loudly
as if claiming mastery, and showers of raindrops fall,
this flashing of the lightning, lovely as gold,
brings both joy and dismay upon the road to bold, beautiful-eyed women.
