yavakā nityam ahitāḥ kṛṣṇavrīhipramodakāḥ | vīryoṣṇā madhurāste vai sakaṣāyāś ca kīrtitāḥ ||
Yavakas are always harmful, as are kṛṣṇavrīhi and pramodaka; / they are hot in potency, sweet, and declared to be slightly astringent.
