rūkṣo laghuḥsthiraśśītaḥ kaṣāyastikta eva ca | tīkṣṇoṣṇāvamlalavaṇaukaṭurvāpivikāśyatha ||

Dry, light, stable, and cold are the astringent and the bitter [tastes]; / sharp and hot are the sour and the salty; the pungent is also penetrating.
