pippalī pākamadhurā tasmāt tāṃ nātibhakṣayet | atyāhṛtā paceddehaṃ tīkṣṇoṣṇakaṭubhāvataḥ ||

long pepper is sweet in post-digestive effect, therefore one should not eat too much of it. / If taken in excess, it cooks the body because of its sharp, hot, and pungent nature.
