1.1

ūnaṣāṇmāsikaṃ ṣaṣṭhe māse vā nyūnamāsikam | traipakṣikaṃ tripakṣe syād ūnābdaṃ dvādaśe tathā

The [rite] less than six months [after death] should be performed in the sixth month, or [likewise that] less than a month; / the [rite] of three fortnights should take place in the third fortnight, and likewise the [rite] less than a year in the twelfth [month].

The 'deficient six-monthly' (śrāddha) is in the sixth month, or a month less; the three-fortnight one in the third fortnight; the 'deficient yearly' in the twelfth month.
