mṛtāhani samāsena piṇḍanirvapaṇaṃ pṛthak | navaśrāddhaṃ tu daṃpatyor anvārohaṇa eva tu
On the day of death, the offering of the rice-ball is combined [or] separate; / but the new śrāddha [is combined] only when the husband and wife ascend the funeral pyre together.
When husband and wife die together, (the śrāddha) on the day of death is joint, but the rice-balls separate; and so the 'new' śrāddhas.
