yadi sā dātṛvaikalyādrajaḥ paśyet kumārikā
bhrūṇahatyāśca yāvatyaḥ patitaḥ syāttadapradaḥ
If that maiden should see her menses through the failure of the givers,
the one who fails to give her becomes a fallen man, incurring as many sins as the killing of an embryo.
