japitvā trīṇi sāvitryāḥ sahastrāṇi samāhitaḥ /
māsaṅgoṣṭhe payaḥ pītvā mucyate 'satpratigrahāt //
Having recited three thousand [repetitions] of the Sāvitrī [mantra] with concentrated mind / and lived on milk in a cowpen for a month, one is freed from [the sin of accepting an] improper gift.
