prāṇair yuktā tato buddhiḥ sañjātā cāṣṭamūrtikī(5) /
ahaṅkārastato jajñe manastasmādajāyata //
United with the vital breaths, the intellect was then produced, possessing eight forms;
from that, ego was born; from that, the mind arose.
