arthāḥ prajajñire pañca saṅkalpādiyutāstataḥ /
śabdaḥ sparśaś ca rūpañca raso gandha iti smṛtā //
From that, the five objects [of sense] were produced, accompanied by volition and the rest;
they are recorded as sound, touch, form, taste, and smell.
