aṣṭāraṃ dvādaśāraṃ vā madhye mūrtimatānvitaṃ /
nārasiṃhena tārkṣyeṇa dhvajadaṇḍastu nirbraṇaḥ //
With eight spokes or twelve spokes, endowed in the center with an embodied form / of Nṛsiṃha [or] Garuḍa; and the banner-staff must be free from defects.
