utthāpya(2) nāgapṛṣṭhādyair bhrāmayettaiḥ samaṅgalaiḥ /
āpo hi ṣṭheti ca kṣipettrimadhvākte ghaṭe jale //
Having raised [him], he should carry [the vessel] around on the back of an elephant and the like with auspicious rites;
and with "The waters indeed are," he should place [him] in water, in a jar smeared with the three sweets.
