pūjāṃ śivasya vahneś ca guruḥ kuryāttadocitāṃ /
praṇatiñcātmane śiṣyaṃ samayān śrāvayettathā //
The guru should perform the appropriate worship of Śiva and the fire; / he should have the disciple make prostration to the self and make him hear the probationary pledges:
