niyacchedviṣayebhyo 'kṣān manasā buddhisārathiḥ /
manaḥ karmabhirākṣiptaṃ śubhārthe dhārayeddhiyā //
18. With Buddhi for his guide, he should by the power of the mind, restrain the senses from being drawn away to their objects; and by the force of his judgment, he should make his mind, which is distracted by Karma, stand steady towards the auspicious thing .
