kṣattrajātiḥ sāntapanaṃ ṣaḍdvirātraṃ pare tathā /
ekavṛkṣa tu caṇḍālaḥ pramādādbrāhmaṇo yadi /
phalaṃ bhakṣayate tatra ahorātreṇa śudhyati //

The kṣatriya class [performs] a sāntapana, and the others six [days] and two nights. / If a cāṇḍāla and a brāhmaṇa are on the same tree, and [the brāhmaṇa] heedlessly / eats fruit there, he is purified in a day and night.
