tataḥ śriyaṃ tato vāyuṃ bhāratīṃ ca tataḥ param /
ante vyāsaṃ kimarthaṃ ca tvaṃ namaskṛtavānasi /
sūtasūta mahābhāga brūhi kāraṇamatra ca //

Then [why] to Śrī, then to Vāyu, and then after that to Bhāratī, / and at the end, why have you bowed to Vyāsa? / O Sūta, Sūta, highly fortunate one, state the reason in this matter."
