brahmāṇḍalaiṅgye brahmavaivartakaṃ vai mārkaṃṇḍeyaṃ brāhmamādityakaṃ ca /
etānyā hustāmasānīti viprāstatraikadeśaḥ sāttviko rājasaśca //
The Brahmāṇḍa, the Liṅga, the Brahmavaivarta, the Mārkaṇḍeya, the Brāhma, and the Āditya— / these, O brahmins, they describe as tāmasika, though a portion of them is sāttvika and rājasika.
