sūkṣmeṇa rūpeṇa ca kāraṇaṃ syāt tarhi prapañcasya ca kāraṇaṃ vada /
avidyāyā vaśato viṣṇureva nānārūpairdṛśyate viṣṇureva //
[Garuḍa said:] / If it is the cause in a subtle form, then tell [me] the cause of the manifold world. / Under the influence of ignorance (avidyā), it is only Viṣṇu that is seen in manifold forms, only Viṣṇu.
