kāryārambhaḥ ekāṃgīdṛṣṭyā eva bhavati. kālakrameṇa yadāyadā anubhave vṛddhiḥ bhavati, tadaiva sarvāṅgīṇa dṛṣṭiḥ upalabhyate. dundubhipurohitaḥ api ekāṃgī dūradṛṣṭiḥ asti yaḥ kāṇī asti.
kārtikaśuklapakṣagovatsadvādaśīvratasya māhātmyaṃ evaṃ vidhiḥ bhaviṣyapurāṇe 4.69 api upalabhyate. vatsopari ṭippaṇī
The commencement of an action happens from a one-sided perspective alone. Gradually over time, whenever there is an increase in experience, only then is a comprehensive vision attained. The priest Dundubhi too is an illustration of a one-sided, defective vision, being one-eyed.
The māhātmya and the procedure of the Govatsadvādaśī vow of the bright fortnight of Kārtika are also found in Bhaviṣyapurāṇa 4.69. Note on Vatsa.
