vyāsa uvāca -
yadi tuṣṭo'si me deva yadi deyo varo mama .
pratyakṣo narmadātīre svayameva bhaviṣyasi .
atītānāgatajño'haṃ tvatprasādādumāpate .. 97.85 ..

Vyāsa said: / "If you are pleased with me, O God, if a boon is to be given to me: / you yourself shall become manifest on the bank of the Narmadā; / and through your grace, O Lord of Umā, may I know the past and the future."
