7.10.27_11

tasya tena tadā vyāsa mukhe bhinnasya dāruṇaḥ .
uttasthau vāyuvad dhūmaḥ śarīrādañjanopamaḥ ..16..
tena dhūmena9 khañcaiva divaṃ bhūścaiva sarvaśaḥ .
pūritā mahatā10 vyāsa na prājñāyata11 kiṃcana ..17..

Pierced in his mouth by him then, O Vyāsa, terrible smoke, / resembling collyrium, rose up from his body like the wind. / By that smoke, the sky, heaven, and earth were completely / filled, O Vyāsa; nothing whatsoever could be discerned.
