yacchāma na vayaṃ dvāramājñā naḥ pārameśvarī .
ta evamuktāḥ10 saṃcintya jagmurbrahmasadaḥ surāḥ ..21 . .
tato nivedayāmāsurbrahmaṇaste surottamāḥ .
atha brahmā surānāha mayā saha punaḥ surāḥ . .22 . .
gacchadhvaṃ gaṇapān yāvat pratyāpattiṃ nayāmi vaḥ11 .
tataste brahmaṇā sārdhaṃ viṣṇunā ca divaukasaḥ ..23 ..

We do not grant entrance; our command is that of the Supreme Lord."
Having been addressed thus, the gods reflected and went to the assembly of Brahmā.
Then those best of gods reported [the matter] to Brahmā.
Then Brahmā said to the gods: "Once more, O gods, with me,
go to the commanders of the gaṇas, so that I may restore you [to favor]."
