Devibhagavatapurana 4.13.3

4.13.3

dharmaśāstreṣu sarveṣu satyaṃ dharmasya kāraṇam |
kathitaṃ munibhiryena paramātmāpi labhyate ||

In all the religious S’âstras, Truth is declared to be the essence of Dharma; and the Supreme Self is attained through Truth, so the wise sages say. How can we expect an ordinary householder to be true when such a man as Brihaspatî takes recourse to falsehood with the Demons.
