devāsurairayaṃ sindhurmathitaḥ samaye kvacit |
viṣṇunā vihito bhedaḥ sudhāratnacchalena vai ||
O Mother! Once the Devas and the Asuras conjointly churned the ocean. At that time Visnu, on the plea of distributing the jewel, and the ambrosial nectar, incurred quarrels amongst them.
