śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca:
aṣṭākṣareṇa deveśaṃ narasiṃham anāmayam
gandhapuṣpādibhir nityam arcayed acyutaṃ naraḥ //
The venerable Mārkaṇḍeya said: / With the eight-syllabled [mantra], a man should daily worship the Lord of the gods, / the stainless Narasiṃha, Acyuta, with fragrant pastes, flowers, and the like.
