toṣayantī trīṃśca devāñchubhaiḥ stotrair vrataistathā /
grīṣmeṣu ca mahādevi pañcāgniṃ sādhayet tataḥ //
pleasing the three gods with auspicious hymns and vows—
then in the summers, O great goddess, she practiced the penance of five fires.
