māsi cāśvayuje tatra śuklapakṣe caturdaśīm /
upoṣya prayataḥ snātastarpayet pitṛdevatāḥ //
There, having fasted on the fourteenth day of the bright fortnight in the month of Āśvina, / purified and having taken a sacred bath, one should offer libations to the ancestors and deities.
