tena devān vidhānoktān sthāpayanti narā bhuvi /
akṣayaṃ cāvyayaṃ yasmātphalaṃ bhavati nānyathā //
Therefore, men install deities prescribed by rule upon the earth, / because the fruit is imperishable and unfading, and not otherwise.
