sadya eva tadā jātāḥ pāpiṣṭhā gatakalmaṣāḥ /
tīrthasyāsya prabhāvena narmadāyāḥ prabhāvataḥ //
At once, then, the wicked ones became free from impurity, / through the power of this pilgrimage place, through the power of the Narmadā.
