vyāsamutthāpayāmāsur vedavyasanatatparam /
brāhmaṇārthe ca saṃkliṣṭo nātmahetoḥ saridvare //
They revived Vyāsa, who was devoted to the toil of the Vedas, [saying]: / 'O best of rivers, he is distressed for the sake of Brahmins, not for his own sake!
