The skies having answered and shown their grace, the forest is beautified / as pregnant, dark clouds poured down their rain in the rainy season; / amid the lovely flowers of the gem-like pūvai, / red velvet mites spread their backs, while many fine / mullai blossoms fall and scatter across the ground, / so that the red-earthed woodlands look like the handiwork of a skilled artist; / driving the energetic steeds of splendid training and pacing gait / so that their paired hooves step lightly along the way, / forget the thunder and speed the chariot on, O charioteer! / If they hear the rattle of the swift-horsed chariot, / the lovely union of the straight-legged doe and the stag / whose twisted horns resemble the empty clusters of the white vāḻai flower after its petals have fallen / in succession from their pointed buds, / may be broken, even in the middle of the day!
