O dark flock of clouds that scooped up the great ocean! / Rising to the right across the darkened, high sky and encircling it, / rumbling like war drums bound with leather, / having flashes of lightning like the bright swords unsheathed and thrown / by great men who fought in hard battles for kings / who understand propriety and deviate not from the path of virtue, / do you only make mere empty roar every day? / Do you also bring rain outside to the millet field, / guarded by the hill girl who wears a rich garland of kino flowers that blossomed like gold, / who strolls attractively with her bright companions, / twirling the slingshot, driving [birds] with the rattler, / and wearing a lovely foliage skirt of flame-like red shoots? / May you flourish, O rain!
