I will not understand! Do not speak your deceit! / Surely you have no shame, lord of the fertile town! / When women with small bracelets grow tired of the colorful floods / of the inner waters where beautiful fans rest, / they pluck the fresh sedges of the wetlands / and drive white herons from the wet fields of basil. / In the harbor front of Kaḻāar of Matti with many spears, / the strong-shouldered king of the Paratavars with a powerful bow, / where the Kāvērī's great waters arrive at dawn, / bending down tall white marutam trees together with vañci trees, / the scandal of your playing on a previous day / with the woman you desire, whose forearms wear bracelets, / today is greater even than the clamor / when Kaṭṭi of war-slaying armies fled without fighting, / terrified upon hearing the melodious sweet kiṇai drum / in the morning assembly of Uṟantai, ruled by Tittaṉ Veḷiyaṉ / adorned with abundant garlands, alongside the mighty, valiant Pāṇaṉ!
