After clearing the tangled creepers of an ancient, fertile green forest,
and plowing the red field yoked with many bullocks,
in the orderly prescribed manner, lush with fruitful crops,
a cow entered the bean-plants dense with green leaves;
without mercy, the village elders of the ancient Kōcar clan
gouged out the eyes of her truth-speaking father. In her grief,
she ate not from a plate, wore no washed white garments,
and did not abandon the vow she took in her wrath,
until she spoke to Titiyaṉ of fierce chariots and valiant army,
master of swift horses versed in battle, and saw them
slain of their sweet lives. Like Anṉi Miñili, whose fury then subsided,
we too, with our bodies swelling with unbounded joy,
are filled with unceasing bliss—for the one whose words are lovely and sweet
has returned, smelling of the great cloudy mountain of Pēkaṉ,
whose bountiful joy flows with bee-swarmed liquor, on whose slopes
adorned with pools where cascades roar amidst abundant blooms,
fine multiple spray drenches the bushes.
