Wearing a lovely garland woven with many blossoms / of gold-leaf-like bright-clustered cerunti,
chasing crabs on the dense sandy shore / and resting, the slender girl with choice bangles,
even if given a vessel full of precious goods of great excellence, / is difficult to attain; so, discerning virtue,
moving from our dwelling country to settle [there], / ploughing salt with him on the shore of the vast sea,
entering the deep waters of the great sea with a raft, / prostrating, bowing down, and abiding near [him],
will he give [her] to us — / the fisherman of the great haven with seaside groves,
who takes the rounded pearls washed up by wide waves / and shares them there on the wide shore where bees buzz?
