In the desolate, ruined vast tract where large flocks of dark-hued crows with sapphire-hued mouths / climb swaying branches of banyan trees with bound aerial roots, / screeching towards the settlements of curved-bow Eyinar, / and feed on fallen corpses of those slain by the arrows of fierce-deeded warriors; / if you intend to depart and be separated from her— / she whose terrifying gaze is like a female spirit, / whose slender waist is delicately thin, / whose skin bears a subtle dark tint, / whose lovely breasts are adorned with beauty-spots arisen in an exquisite hue, / resembling the freshly blown gold-hued flowers of the kino tree, / with bee-humming tresses and large shoulders— / may rare wealth be gained by you! / Yet, she has endurance as fragile as plucked tender sprouts, / she is gentle, young, and boundless in love; / when you say, 'I shall depart,' / she lacks the strength of mind to say, 'I will stay behind!'
