The young woman of refined ornaments, large, soft, bamboo-like shoulders, / and tender speech, seems destined to receive a guest! / In the forest of green sprouts nurtured by continuous downpours, / looking like the unfledged down of a young parrot chick / sweetly born with tender ways, / in each full pool that resembles a drumhead, / rain-droplet bubbles leap in abundance, / appearing and vanishing like floating round blisters; / and as the wind shakes branches, strewing them all around, / fragrant flowers eaten by bees, resembling the wings of a kingfisher, / are cut down by wheels cutting tracks through the cool ground, / where water rushes swiftly like a moving serpent: / the chariot of the noble lord speeds on, / choosing to enter the city at the evening hour of mullai!
