Pointing out abundant wealth as being good through action, / leaving behind the bright-browed one of home-glorifying chastity, / you thought: 'Without deeming the path hard to traverse, / I shall go to the wilderness path where, / on a lone high branch of an upright, red-trunked yā tree devoid of forked shoots, / sits a strong-winged, skillful male eagle / that whistles with an enticing, sweet, flute-like tone / to summon its curved-beaked mate to come / and where its sweet melody sounds; / remembering the unclear gaze of her flower-like, black-beautied, cool, rain-like eyes, / I will cross many hills with chisel-faced, scorching-pebble paths; / while we remain alone, / you have planned to leave me behind.' / If you do not part from the one of bamboo-resembling curved-jointed forearms, / line-adorned loins, and white teeth, / like the Kollī hill of the Cēra king victorious in war, / it would indeed be good. / Even if you did not know our state back then, / if you now obstruct the pursuit of your task, / will you not become the object of others' ridicule?
