It is the occasion to dispel [it]—charioteer! The swift horses of bird-like speed / that seem capable of crossing the earth with adorned manes, / as you carefully guide their reins of varied beauty, / on the wide path in cool condition where buds of wild jasmine have unfolded, / while young warriors with victorious spears of oil-smeared, stout shafts / and finely shining, broad blades hurry along with swift paces, / if we make haste to go: / where torrents have carved lines upon red soil, / in the damp sand of the open path, as partridges scatter, / piercing the wet mounds of serpent-dwelling anthills / with earth-soiled horns, the lordly bull, / embracing the tender heifer with desire to stay together, / returns toward the village at this time, / when the sweet, delicate ringing of clear bells tied to cattle / entering the village common together with lowing calls for their calves / is heard in every lonely evening, / [it will dispel] the helpless state of her who lives in turmoil.
