Since there is the Āṅgirasa sāman, having mounted like a calf, it is the heavenly world, for the attainment of the heavenly world. Concerning this they say: 'The Gharma consists of ṛc, consists of yajus, consists of sāman.' For whomever this Pravargya is being placed on the fire, they place it on the fire whole, with valor, with its womb, with its body, for prosperity; that sacrificer attains prosperity. He prospers with life and valor. If one's Mahāvīra breaks, with 'Who even without clamps…', he should join it together with clay suitable for ritual work or with a cementing mixture. […] If one's Mahāvīra spills while being placed on the fire, the sacrificer would be liable to perish. With the two [verses], 'Heaven and earth have not spilled…', he should offer, so that it is not a spilt oblation. He attains the full span of life; that is the expiation there. The lightning Pravargya bellows against him whose Mahāvīra is thundered upon while being placed on the fire. That grief falls upon the sacrificer. With the two [verses], 'When you bellowed…' [and] 'Agni bellowed…', he should offer. The bellowing is Agni; he pacifies him with his own share. He attains the full span of life; that is the expiation there. His Pravargya is struck with a thunderbolt whose Mahāvīra is rained upon while being placed on the fire; that sacrificer becomes liable to die. With the two [verses], 'Sing forth to Parjanya…' [and] 'This speech to Parjanya…', he should offer. Parjanya is the waters; he pacifies him with his own share. He attains the full span of life; that is the expiation there. Darkness envelopes the sacrifice of him whose sun sets while the Mahāvīra is being placed on the fire; that sacrificer falls into misfortune. With the two [verses], 'Up that Jātavedas…' [and] 'The wonderful [face] of the gods has arisen…', he should offer. That sun is Rudra, the Mahāvīra; he pacifies him with his own share. He attains the full span of life; that is the expiation there. […] That is the expiation there. Rudra threatens the cattle of him whose milk-cow for the Gharma sits down while the Mahāvīra is being placed on the fire.
