He heats it with the fiery energy of that sun yonder. He sets each previous one down; he climbs these worlds alone. 22 With "You are the horse dung of the stallion, belonging to Prajāpati," he mutters over the horse dung. The horse indeed belongs to Prajāpati; he accomplishes it through its proper form alone. 23 With "May the wives of the gods fumigate you with the dung of the stallion horse," he fumigates with horse dung. 24 The horse indeed belongs to Prajāpati, the sacrifice to Prajāpati, for common origin. With "For flame to you, for glow to you, for heat to you," he places śamī branches around it. Fire is fiery energy, śamī branches are fiery energy; he places fiery energy in fiery energy alone. 25 With "Of Mitra, the supporter of the peoples," he worships [it]. He prepares it for Mitra alone. 26 With "May the god Savitṛ bake you," he bakes it at Savitṛ's impulse. 27 With "Unwavering on the earth, fill the quarters and directions," [he recites]. Therefore fire shines out in all directions. 28 With "Stand up, become great, stand upright, you are firm," he strengthens it alone. 29 With "Here do I supply this one, son of so-and-so, son of such-and-such a woman, with fiery energy and priestly splendor," [he addresses] a brahman. The Gāyatrī is fiery energy and the priesthood; with fiery energy and priestly splendor he supplies him. 30 If he should practice sorcery, [he says:] "Here do I deprive this one, son of so-and-so, son of such-and-such a woman, of fiery energy and priestly splendor." The Gāyatrī is fiery energy and the priesthood; he deprives him of fiery energy and priestly splendor. 31 With "Here do I supply this one, son of so-and-so, son of such-and-such a woman, with might and valor," [he addresses] a rājanya. The Triṣṭubh is might and valor; with might and valor he supplies him. 32 If he should practice sorcery, [he says:] "Here do I deprive this one, son of so-and-so, son of such-and-such a woman, of might and valor." 33 The Triṣṭubh is might and valor; he deprives him of might and valor. 24 With "Here do I supply this one, son of so-and-so, son of such-and-such a woman, with nourishment and cattle," [he addresses] a vaiśya. The Jagatī is cattle.
