He leads the sacrificer to overlordship over everything. "Together with the faultless ones, the gatherings": the priestly functions are the faultless ones; with them he unites at the Pravargya; with them he unites the Pravargya. "The ocean they call your seat": the Vedas are the oceans; in them he unites him at the Pravargya. "... of the clouds, lightning, of the constellations, you who accompany the Gandharva Viśvāvasu, homage be to them; may they be gracious to us, may they grant us protection; him whom we hate and who hates us, him we place in their jaws!" "I saw the herdsman who does not rest": the sun; he is the herdsman of the worlds; he does not rest by night nor by day. "Moving hither and thither along the paths": therefore he wanders along all paths, whether southward or northward. "Clad in those converging and those diverging": four quarters are his converging, four diverging; clad in them he covers these worlds with fiery energy. "Here you protected the sweet thing for the two sweet ones, the sweetness for the two desiring sweetness." "When the Gharma has shone": "I shall gather sweet honey" is what he says. "Agni has met with fire, with the divine Savitṛ, he shines with the sun, svāhā!": here indeed now fire meets with fire. "Agni has met with heat, with the divine Savitṛ, he has shone with the sun. The upholder of heaven shines across the mist, the upholder of the broad intermediate space, the upholder of earth, the upholder god of gods, immortal, born of heat": yonder sun upholds these worlds with fiery energy. "For the heart to you, for the mind to you, for heaven to you, for the sun to you": to yonder world he leads him. "This rite upward!": the sacrificial rite is the sacrifice; [it is] for the upward direction of the sacrifice. "Extend the offerings among the gods in heaven": with the offerings […] "Embryo of the gods, father of thoughts, lord of creatures": for he is the embryo of the gods.
