ŚĀ 12.4
Beholding the auspicious, the ṛṣis who found heaven approached and arrived at initiation; / from that were born dominion, strength, and power: to him let the gods bow down! ||16
Creator, dispenser, highest and all-seeing, Prajāpati, supreme, full of splendour— / the stoma praises, metres, and nivid formulas speak of me: to him let the realm bow down! ||17
Turn towards [him], wait upon Agni; may this ruler be our overlord! / Follow his understanding, start in unison; after him shall you all live! ||18
You are born by the name Alarda, before the sun, before the dawn; / as such I know you, the destroyer of rivals, the crusher of hindrances. ||19
He will not die halfway; he will cross over the hater, his speech will prevail, he will overcome hosts; / subject to death is the hater of him, they say, who wears the Irā-amulet of bilva wood. ||20
