Therefore wild cattle are of uniform form. / The sound lasts until the last syllable. / Therefore in the village only one immovable [creature] after another is found. / Moreover, they carry back to the village [what was] slain in the wilderness. / Having praised, they run forth. / Thereby they make the sacrificer go to the heavenly world. / They lift up their arms. / Thereby they establish the sacrificer in the heavenly world. / They indeed do an untruth who make him who is mortal attain immortality. / They are deprived of form and luster. / If another rises, he should rise after him, holding onto him who rises. / He is not deprived of form and luster; he does not incur misfortune. / He should discern the future: / if these creatures should be, as it were, running about, then acquisition and preservation will be running about. / He should know: “In this way this Udgātṛ has chanted.” / But if they should be, as it were, calm, acquisition and preservation will be calm. / He should know: “In this way this Udgātṛ has chanted.” / This is the discernment.
