Then Jamadagni desired: 'May I attain abundance in offspring and cattle.' He saw this seventeenfold stoma. He brought it forth. He sacrificed with it. Prajāpati is the abundance among the stomas, the seventeenfold. Therefore, he attained abundance in offspring and cattle. He who knows thus attains abundance in offspring and cattle. Then Gotama desired: 'May my offspring be trustworthy and endowed with spiritual luster.' He saw this twenty-onefold stoma. He brought it forth. He sacrificed with it. Faith and spiritual luster are the twenty-onefold of the stomas, for that is yonder Āditya. Therefore, his offspring became trustworthy and endowed with spiritual luster. Even nowadays, these Gautamas are trustworthy and endowed with spiritual luster. He who knows thus becomes trustworthy and endowed with spiritual luster.
