Indra and the Maruts [and Agni]—with this indeed Indra and Agni conquered the thousand from the Maruts. / Having announced it to King Soma, he quickened his own clan. / In imitation of that, even now they quicken the clan having announced it to the king. / Yama perceived that: 'They have won the thousand.' / He came. / Having come, he said, 'Invite me to share in this thousand.' / 'So be it,' they replied. / They invited him. / In this thousand, Yama saw a cow carrying the milk of a thousand cows. / He said to them, 'This one is mine, and that other belongs to you two.' / The other two said, 'Indeed, what you see in this cow, that we two see.' / He said, 'Let us divide her.' / They divided her. / They said, 'Let us draw lots: to whom of us shall she come first?' / They drew lots. / She went first to Soma, / then to Indra, then to Yama. / They made her enter into the waters.
