tāmabruvansomāyodehi tṛtīyena cātmanastṛtīyena ca sahasrasyeti
sā babhruḥ piṅgākṣyudaittṛtīyena cātmanastṛtīyena ca sahasrasya
saiṣā somakrayaṇī
tṛtīyena ca ha vai tasyai tṛtīyena ca sahasrasya saha somo rājā krīto bhavati
tāmpunarevāpsu prāveśayan
tāmabruvannindrāyodehi tṛtīyena cātmanastṛtīyena ca sahasrasyeti
sā śabalī paṣṭhauhyudaittṛtīyena cātmanastṛtīyena ca sahasrasya
saiṣendreṣyā dīyate
tṛtīyena ca ha vai tasyai tṛtīyena ca sahasrasya saha sā dattā bhavati
tāmpunarevāpsu prāveśayan
tāmabruvanyamāyodehi tṛtīyena cātmanastṛtīyena ca sahasrasyeti
sā dhūmrā dityauhyudaidīrmato hrasīyasī paścādvarṣīyasī jaratī vākuṣṭhāśṛṅgī
tṛtīyena cātmanastṛtīyena ca sahasrasya
saiṣānustaraṇī
tṛtīyena ca ha vai tasyai tṛtīyena ca sahasrasya saha sānustaraṇī kṛtā bhavati
no hācakruriva manyeta

They said to her, 'Rise up for Soma with a third of yourself and a third of the thousand.' / She arose, brown and tawny-eyed, with a third of herself and a third of the thousand. / She is this cow for purchasing Soma. / Indeed, together with a third of her and a third of the thousand, King Soma is purchased. / They made her enter into the waters again. / They said to her, 'Rise up for Indra with a third of yourself and a third of the thousand.' / She arose, dappled and three-years-old, with a third of herself and a third of the thousand. / She is given [as the sacrificial cow] offered to Indra. / Indeed, together with a third of her and a third of the thousand, she is given. / They made her enter into the waters again. / They said to her, 'Rise up for Yama with a third of yourself and a third of the thousand.' / She arose, smoky-colored, two-years-old, shorter in the front, taller in the back, old, with curved horns, with a third of herself and a third of the thousand. / She is this funeral cow (anustaraṇī). / Indeed, together with a third of her and a third of the thousand, she is made the funeral cow. / One should not think of it as if they had done nothing.
