Now, for one of whom there is a three-day rite [consisting of] Jyotis, Gauḥ, and Āyus, a three-day rite [consisting of] Jyotis, Gauḥ, and Āyus, and the Jyotir-Gaur-Āyur-Atirātra—one who should desire: 'May I ascend into these worlds without interruption,' he should sacrifice with this rite. In that there is a three-day rite of Jyotis, Gauḥ, and Āyus, this world indeed is Jyotis, this [intermediate world] is Gauḥ, and yonder [world] is Āyus; he ascends into these worlds without interruption. The Atirātra is the highest three-day rite. These worlds are indeed of such a nature: this world is like an Agniṣṭoma, this [intermediate world] is like an Ukthya, yonder [world] is like an Atirātra. In whatever way these worlds are constituted, even so he ascends into them. Now, for one of whom there is a Jyotir-Gaur-Āyur-Atirātra, a Jyotir-Gaur-Āyur-Atirātra, and a Jyotir-Gaur-Āyur-Atirātra—one who also should desire: 'May I ascend into these worlds without interruption,' he should sacrifice with this rite. In that there is a Jyotir-Gaur-Āyur-Atirātra, this world indeed is Jyotis, this [intermediate world] is Gauḥ, and yonder [world] is Āyus; he ascends into these worlds without interruption. The three-day rites are endowed with Atirātras. Moreover, these worlds are indeed of such a nature: this world is like an Agniṣṭoma, this [intermediate world] is like an Ukthya, yonder [world] is like an Atirātra. In whatever way these worlds are constituted, even so he ascends into them.
