Speech, having emitted the sacrifice, hungered and thirsted.
The gods wished to over-gratify her below [the sacrifice] with the sacrificial oblation.
They did not gratify her.
They wished to over-gratify her below with soma-oblation and offering-sacrifices.
They did not gratify her at all.
They saw this twelve-day rite with shifted meters.
They took it;
they sacrificed with it.
Then, as she had become the meters, they drove her forward.
They were gratified, circling like cows, for each other's share.
Therefore cattle are gratified, circling like cows, for each other's share.
She was gratified.
Whoever thus knows this gratification of Speech and of the meters is gratified in himself, and his offspring are gratified.
The gods indeed, having yoked the divine horses to the divine chariots, mounted these worlds.
The meters are the divine horses; the stomas are the divine chariots.
