The gods desired, 'May we put these worlds together; may we put the sacrifice together.' / They saw this sāman. / With it they praised. / With it they put these worlds together; they put the sacrifice together. / Because they put these worlds together, that indeed is its heavenly quality. / By that he conquers beyond the world of the Gandharvas. / 'Speed is the sacrifice, the stoma, finder of wealth.' / By the sacrifice and by that stoma, indeed, they put these worlds together and put the sacrifice together. / By the sacrifice and by the stoma his sacrifice becomes joined together, and [so do] these worlds, for him who knows thus. / King Soma, indeed, is the Kāleya. / His sacrifice is accompanied by the gods. / Just as here a cow whose calf is tied up runs lowing 'hiṃ', exactly so does Indra come to that soma at which they praise with the Kāleya. / Therefore, one should never depart from this sāman, [thinking], 'May my sacrifice be accompanied by Indra, accompanied by the gods.' / With this he makes the sacrifice accompanied by Indra, accompanied by the gods. / That [sāman] ending with the iḷā-call becomes the acchāvāka's sāman. / Cattle, indeed, are the iḷā. / Thus he is established firmly in cattle.
